About East 17 — Iconic British Boy Band
Few British groups capture the high-energy, anthem-driven feel of 90s pop quite like East 17. Formed in 1991 in Walthamstow, East London, the band fused hip-hop attitude with melodic pop hooks to deliver a string of hits that still fill clubs, radio and festival stages today.
Who Are East 17?
East 17 first broke through with their 1992 debut single “House of Love.” Songwriter Tony Mortimer and lead vocalist Brian Harvey, alongside John Hendy and Terry Coldwell, created a sound that blended street style with chart-ready pop production — and the British public responded immediately.
A Career of Hits
Eighteen Top-20 singles, four studio albums and 18 million records sold worldwide. From “House of Love” and “Deep” to “Steam,” “Around the World,” “It’s Alright” and the Christmas #1 “Stay Another Day,” the band’s catalogue is one of the most consistent of the decade.
The Current Line-up
Today East 17 tours as a trio: founding member Terry Coldwell, Robbie Craig (joined 2014) and Joe Livermore. The group performs across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, delivering the full classic setlist with the same energy that defined them in the 90s.
